On Sunday, March 21, a new table tennis extravaganza kicked off at the Beaumont Club, 4050 Pennsylvania. The event sprang from the popularity of Harling's Upstairs Table Tennis league (see our previous article, "Scenes from KC's ping-pong Fight Club"). The Beaumont Sunday night event included six Olympic-sanctioned Joola ping-pong tables and live DJs.
Blazing Paddles is a traveling table tennis event in partnership with bars and nightclub venues throughout Kansas City. There are a number of tables allocated for tournament play, doubles play, co-ed play and pick up games. For more information, check out the Blazing Paddles Facebook group.
